ARDEMIA: WHERE EVERY STEP TELLS AN EMOTION

In every pair of Ardemia shoes lies a story of dedication and art.

From Naples, the beating heart of creativity and the cradle of Italian craftsmanship, Ardemia embodies the promise of beauty, comfort and authenticity in every detail.

Our mission is to offer not simply a shoe, but an experience: that of wearing a work of art that celebrates the Italian legacy of craftsmanship and design.

MANUFACTURING

First choice materials certainly make the difference, but to obtain a high quality product that alone is not enough!

Each stitching is hand embroidered with needle and thread, resulting in irregular patterns that symbolize scars. Unlike industrial production, our stitching represents stitches that mend wounds, giving value and uniqueness to each piece.

With obsessive attention to the finishing of our products, we create entirely handcrafted footwear produced 100% in Italy. Each shoe is a work of art that conveys our dedication to craftsmanship and artistic expression.

WHO IS ARDEMIA?

Ardemia de'Gennaro is a Neapolitan artist and stylist.

It is told like this:

“I was born in 1992 in Naples, in Southern Italy.

I was 9 years old when I tried my hand at chalk and said that one day I wanted to create something with my own hands.
I was the typical child that teachers at school said – she could do more but she doesn't try! –
It would seem like the usual story of that child who secretly read Vogue magazines to his mother under the bed, yet I escaped from the world by entering mine: made of scraps of old clothes, needles, Ida canvases and towels that I sewed secretly from the teachers under the school desks to give them to my mother and to sign them I hid a heart with an "A" inside them.

Over time I understood that I could not stop my hands because I could not help but create so I tried to perfect my technique because I wanted to create a product that was unique and that had not only an emotional value but a qualitative one.

So I sweated 7 (maybe even 8, being a woman), from Manchester, where I went for the first time at 16, to London, to Milan, to Aversa until I arrived in Ibiza, but at the end of my journey the time had come for me to come up with something.

Initially I thought of a product that spoke about me without being me. Maybe because I didn't want to risk putting my face on it.
Yes, it would have been more courageous but if I had failed, those who were counting on me would have been disappointed and those who were rowing against me would have instead rejoiced!

Then one day I found myself having to explain why I was doing all this alone.

They asked me to tell my story without filters and so with a bit of embarrassment I started without stopping for a moment.
– If you don't show your face and tell your true story, no one will know what's behind all this! Behind these products there is not only a lot of work and dedication but there is a soul, a story: yours! –

Each of us has a story behind us, more or less intense, and I decided, not being able to express it with words, to tell it in my creations. And when they ask me why I don't start sewing with a machine so I would waste less time, I answer that it is not wasted time because in every hole, in every stitch, in every embroidery there is a piece of me.”

with heart, Ardemia.
